“The show is all but stolen by Edwina Findley as White House butler Sheila Cannon, who doesn’t mind helping herself to entire bottles of vodka. Her boozy, blustering sarcasm should be entered into evidence as a blunt instrument.”

Edwina Findley delivers a harrowing performance... Findley (Middle of Nowhere) makes the pain of Benny's harried single mother, Melva, as naked as it is profound.

Ms. Findley draws you to her slowly and inevitably with hopeful smiles, glints of panic and fear; her tears dribble and then cascade but are always earned. Ms. Findley (“The Wire”) is one of a legion of very fine performers working in television who deserve to be in more movies.

Superb, skin-prickling performance...with Findley utterly wrenching as a dedicated mother pushed to frank irrationality by others' negligence. The pic's visual texture calls to mind earlier works by Ava DuVernay - whose 2012 breakthrough "Middle of Nowhere," as it happens, demonstrated the concentrated power of actress Edwina Findley.
